Route Setters

Meet the chosen few who are responsible for the amazing routes that you find on our walls! We try to pull from an eclectic community of climbers to reflect a true diversity of styles in routes, and hope that you like what they produce! While different, the one thing they all share is a passion for your favorite gym, a desire to challenge and encourage our climbers, and the ability to crush hard routes!

Laura

Laura does a kick-ass job setting thoughtful boulder and roped climbs. She has been climbing for 5 years, and has amassed a wealth of climbing knowledge to rival the burliest crag-hound that can be found eating dog food year-round to fuel their addiction.

Get ready to love her routes so much that you will weep when they finally get taken down.

Kotke

Chris has been setting at the Warehouse since last summer. He favors tricky sport/TR routes in the 5.9 – 5.11 range, and is also responsible for those amazing hands-free problems that keep appearing on the slab.

Dave

Dave started climbing again after a 10+ year

hiatus, proclaiming that gym climbing could never rival outdoor climbing. After two winters in the gym and many months climbing on many local crags, we’re glad to have converted him into at least a seasonal gym rat! Look for unique tricky sport routes named after Cohen brothers’ films.

Sue

Sue received her introduction to rock climbing through the intermediate climbing course with the Mountaineers.  She has climbed alpine rock in The Olympics, The Enchantments, The Tetons, and The Wind River Range.  Her trad experience is at Smith Rock, Leavenworth, Squamish, Yosemite, Beacon Rock, and Joshua Tree.

Heather

Heather is a native Washingtonian.  Her first ever rock climb was Prusik Peak in Washington and she has been hooked ever since.

She has been climbing in the gym since it opened in 2004, and enjoys setting balancey problems that involve lots of stemming and mantling. She would much rather be route setting than doing her day job!

Austin

Austin is a great rope and boulder setter. He can be found outside most sunny days through the summer, crushing boulders and sport routes with the best of them. Look for relentless sport climbs that will leave you forearms thoroughly pumped.
